As a leader in the church I echo your words and would have to admit that I have not always done a good job of pursuing the very gifted women in our church. We are growing in this more. Your post was another encouragement to keep pursuing them.Jeff4epichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00569972787809655372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892445584591819741.post-88500045603715945022013-07-31T03:45:26.696-07:002013-07-31T03:45:26.696-07:00Thanks for sharing your gifts and writing this art...Thanks for sharing your gifts and writing this article. I just happened upon your blog while searching for info about being a stay at home mom. This is so excellent. I'm Catholic and remember how Pope John Paul ll wrote so much about the wonderful gifts of women and how they need to be recognized and used to build up the Kingdom of God here on earth.
I am looking to be more intentional m myself in my marriage. I think that is so important for strong marriages. I look forward to reading more of your writings and the insights of the awesome Christan women who are following and commenting regularly.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892445584591819741.post-53467397788841852312013-05-04T19:18:25.395-07:002013-05-04T19:18:25.395-07:00This was a great encouragement to me. As a "reformed church rookie" looking for biblical insight on being a woman who pleases God and an excellent wife and a godly mother, I was surrounded by all of the voices telling me to sit down and be quiet. My church is lovely, but I suspect they believe that the male experience is the norm that would apply to every experience; there is no encouragement to women to speak, pray, or teach. All of the focus for women's lives is the home, to the extent that we don't even receive Titus 2 ministry in the church to help us understand how to function well in the home. We're all on our own, each woman, struggling to figure it out by herself. I didn't realize how much I missed active feminine leadership until I read this and Pastor Anyabwile's articles and then I knew I was not alone in hungering for more.MSAC English Joshuahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12395329528544650506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892445584591819741.post-88073159173865130032013-04-26T16:10:26.073-07:002013-04-26T16:10:26.073-07:00I wanted to cry when I read this. I had hoped to teach women or counsel. But after several years in a couple church plants (Acts 29), I have been entertaining using my gifts in secular settings (a counselor at a hospital or teaching at a university). No one has ever said, "No, you can't do that." I know that the only thing off limits to me at my church is being a pastor or elder. But no one has ever really encouraged me, either. Thank you for this article! I hope it is taken to heart, and I pray that the pursuit begins!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892445584591819741.post-17764089159660631542013-04-26T12:00:22.369-07:002013-04-26T12:00:22.369-07:00excellent. thanks for thoughtfully articulating th...excellent. thanks for thoughtfully articulating this. This encourages me to read and study The Word even more.

May the words of the Apostle Paul be true in our lives:
2 Timothy 4:1-5
"I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."@mikingpdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06871190179072916084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892445584591819741.post-23281320216295676182013-04-23T11:19:44.539-07:002013-04-23T11:19:44.539-07:00Beautifully, brilliantly said. It's very meaningful to me to not just be somewhat welcomed to contribute but to be actively encouraged to contribute.
